OUR MISSION

Our mission is to inspire and improve lives through high-quality music and creative community engagement.

Now in our 15th season, The Salvatones is a New York-based professional vocal ensemble composed of passionate and committed singers. Led by Artistic Director Daniel Brondel, Associate Director of Music and Organist at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, The Salvatones has captivated audiences since 2010 with their exceptional vocal artistry in concerts and events. Co-founded by President Salvatore Diana, their mission is to inspire and enrich lives through high-quality music and creative community engagement, offering immersive and thrilling musical experiences in NYC.

The ensemble has collaborated with internationally acclaimed vocal groups, including The Philippine Madrigal Singers, Essence of Joy Singers, and DeKoor Close Harmony. The Salvatones have performed throughout New York City and in Westchester, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, and Ohio. Notably, they showcased the work of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Jennifer Higdon at the 2016 Paul Creston Award concert and released their first music video of Nilo Alcala’s arrangement of “Wonderful World” in June 2018. They also presented the New York premiere of Saunder Choi’s “The New Colossus” in October 2018.

The Salvatones are committed to helping create the next generation of music makers and appreciators. With The Salvatones Young Voices, their educational initiative, they provide dynamic learning opportunities that engage young singers in collaborative concerts.

Adapting swiftly to the pandemic, they transitioned to a fully virtual season, producing a series of videos and full-length online concerts to keep both artists and audiences engaged during this challenging time. They collaborated with Consortio, a commissioning collective, to present the virtual world premiere of “Welcome Table” by Saunder Choi. In May 2021, they premiered their first commissioned work, “Crown of Flames” by Saunder Choi, focusing on climate change.

Currently, The Salvatones Live+ concert series features hybrid performances with in-person audiences that are simultaneously live-streamed and available on demand. Their signature programming interweaves a variety of musical styles and genres, including a cappella, classical, jazz, pop, and world music. Committed to advancing the choral art form, they actively promote contemporary music and commission new works by living composers. Performances take place at various venues throughout Manhattan and Queens, including The Actors’ Chapel, Alchemical Studios, National Opera Center, Teatro LATEA, and Uncommonly Studio.

Follow The Salvatones on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. The ensemble has been a repeat grantee of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, receiving support for three seasons, and is also generously supported by the Capital Group Foundation as well as by many .
